Below are some
answers to
frequently asked questions.
What Is Airbrush Tanning?
A
personalized body airbrushing technique using an
Airbrush Spray System that distributes an even mist all
over the body.
How Does Airbrush
Tanning work?
The FDA approved primary
in-gredient dihydroxyacetone (DHA), reacts with the
amino acids (proteins) in the outermost "dead" layer of
your skin. There is an external bronzer in our product,
which begins to show almost immediately. There is no
damage to the underlying living layers of skin, and
unlike tanning beds and sunlight, there are no long-term
ultra-violet carcinogenic dangers. This healthy
tan goes beautifully over an existing tan and can even
out or eliminate any tan lines, if you wish. For the
untanned and fair of skin, our premium quality Airbrush
products will fool your friends into thinking you've
become a sun goddess overnight.
How long does an
Airbrush Tan last?
An airbrushed tan will
typically last 7-10 days. It all depends on your skin
type and how you care for it following the tanning
session. Airbrush tanning produces color on the
outermost layer of the skin, and that layer is being
discarded, cell-by-cell. If you wear your skin hard,
take long hot baths or showers, wear clothes that chafe,
or do anything to encourage the skin to "shed," so does
your tan. You can extend the life of your tan by using
Desert Rain moisturizer and tan extender lotion at least
once daily.
How safe is
Airbrush Tanning?
The primary ingredient,
DHA (dihydroxyacetone), is derived from raw sugar cane
and has been FDA approved for cosmetic use. DHA has been
used safely over the years in numerous sunless tanning
products, such as creams and lotions. The premium
quality product we use is manufactured with the most
advanced method available. Our solution allows for
better adhesion and longer lasting results than
similarly advertised products, which charge more, and is
without the odd coloring effects of earlier generation
products. |

Does tanning
protect
me from the sun?
NO!
Airbrush tanning DOES NOT protect you from the sun. It
is recommended that a sunscreen be used anytime you go
out into the sun.
How long does it
take
to get tanned?
Your
session takes approximately 30 minutes. It takes
approximately 20-25 minutes to airbrush the tan. Drying
usually takes 5 minutes.
What do clients
wear?
Attire for
women is whatever you are comfortable with. Many things
can be done to minimize tan lines. The key is your
comfort level. Attire for men is boxers, swim trunks or
shorts. Our tanning specialists use the utmost
discretion. Loose fitting clothing, and sandals should
be worn for leaving the salon. We have found that DHA
reacts with wool, nylon, and silk. These fabrics should
not be worn during or immediately following your tanning
session.
How Do I Maintain
My Tan?
